Christmas Concert

This past Thursday was Elise's first Christmas Concert at school. She was extremely excited and we were counting the days (sleeps) for her leading up to the big event. The morning of the concert, while I was getting her breakfast ready, she came up to me with a small basket of clothes. She said, "Dad, can we put these in my school bag? They're my change of clothes in case I have an accident in the gym today." Explanation: A couple of weeks ago, Elise's class was playing in the gym. She was having so much fun that she didn't heed the warnings to visit the bathroom, and had an accident. Obviously, she'd spent time thinking about this and didn't want to be caught unprepared in case it happened on the BIG DAY, hence the extra clothes... Very cute, I thought.

The school put on a good show, and Elise's class eventually got up on stage and sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". There were pictures with Santa and a movie night as well. Elise had a wonderful time, and watched the entire movie on the gym mats with her friends, eating popcorn and cupcakes. I think the day lived up to her expectations and was thoroughly enjoyed.

Last weekend we purchased Elise a new ski coat that's warm, colourful, and has a nice fuzzy collar (an important attribute). She and I tested it out last weekend, and found the Whiskey Jacks at the bottom of the Harmony Chair, much to her delight. This one bird sat on her hand for at least 30 seconds - a real treat! The adults in the line up thought it was very cute.

Anyway, we are getting ready for our trip to Italy. We leave next Thursday afternoon and fly to Nice via London. We have a small apartment booked just north of Albenga, Italy and a rental car booked for the entire time. Santa has been informed via letter that we will be out of our house over the holidays and all necessary arrangements have been made.

A week of sunny weather here is looking like it's coming to an end.
